December Happenings

Hello All!! Just wanted to update you all on what is going on in our class. We are finishing up our pattern book unit and we are reading pattern books in school. We are all making wonderful progress in school and I am so proud of my class thus far. Please make sure throughout the break, you continue to read with you child, write with your child,  and take your child out some where fun and relaxing! Happy Holidays to all! We hope to see you at our show on Friday  at 10:15 a.m in the multipurpose room!

Transit Museum

Last week, we went to the Transit Museum in Brooklyn. Although, it took a long time for us to get there, we were able to see most of the museum. We saw trains that were from a long time ago and were able to sit on many of them. We noticed differences and similarities between the two. We were also able to see a city bus and were able to sit on one. Overall, we had a great time visiting the museum. A special thank you to all the parents that were able to come on this trip!

Trip to the library

We went to the library last week. We were able to look at books, sing songs and meet a librarian named Mrs. Miller. She is fabulous and even played the guitar. We took a picture of us in the train and some of us were able to get library cards.

Halloween

We had a wonderful Halloween! We enjoyed the afternoon making spider hats and getting dressed up! Hope you all had a wonderful Halloween! Here are some pics from our day!

Farm comes to us!

So on Thursday we were not able to go to the farm. The students were sad and disappointed but the teachers wanted to make it up to them some how. Mr.Groff got us pumpkins and were able to go to the farmers market near the botanical garden on Friday. Here are some pictures of us enjoying our time! We saw many fruits and vegetables and we were able to taste some apple cider and eat some apple cider donuts! It was a great day!

SHAPE PICTURES

Welcome to another week full of exciting learning. We've been working and learning about shapes in our classroom. Here we made shape pictures and shared with each other the wonderful work we did! We worked on using shapes to manipulate them in different ways.  Some of us made cars, trains, trees, houses, and buses. We are learning so much in math and all our other subjects!

Today in math, we worked on making  circle maps of different shapes. Here we are in our share circle looking at all the wonderful work we did today!

Firefighters come to TALES

Today a bunch of firefighters came  to our school. We talked about how we can be safe at home, things we shouldn't  touch and also learned what firefighters do. Firefighter Bob came and joined us and showed us a smoke alarm and some other materials. It was so much fun to have a real firefighter in our school!

Lysol healthy habits

Today a school bus came to teach  us about healthy habits. We got to go on a bus learn how to stay healthy and clean and even got a free t-shirt. Later on in the day, Jerry Rice a football hall of famer came to say hello! It was a super fun and exciting day ! Here are some pictures!

Hello All! Welcome to another blog post. I am still getting used to working on this, so bear with me. We are well into our second week of school and lots of things are happening. We started music class, science, and movement. We are also learning tons in our classroom. We are exploring with math manipulatives, reading stories, and writing and drawing pictures. We've also started to play in play centers. Kindergarten is kicking into high gear, and I am so happy to see such eager learners.

Parents: Please send in a communal snack for all students to share. Must be something healthy like cheerios or crackers. Nothing with peanuts please!

**Also, if you have not done so, please return all trip money as we need to reserve spots before the actual trip**

o BOY! The first couple of days of kindergarten have begun. We are all eager learners and doing our best job in school! We are still getting used to being in school all day but most of us have made excellent progress so far. Here we are sitting in our letter spots saying good morning to each other!

My very first blog post!

Hello All! Welcome to my very first blog! Today was the first day of school and I met all of my students today! We had such a wonderful first day! The school was buzzing with a lot of new and exciting energy! I can not wait to see what the rest of the school year has in store for us! I can't wait to get to know my students more!
